Hit The City (Suns Apart - Campaign 2 - Session 4)

 PCs:

Cassian Carmine - Master of the Loom (Weaver 1st degree); wielder of Sleep, Alleyways, and Moonlight

Xeni - Shaper (Maker 1st degree); School of Matter, expert in smoke

Xëniå - Journeyman Weaver; wielder of Wind and Moonlight

  • Xeni, Xëniå, Cassian, and Claviger meet for drinks at Cafe/Bar
  • They talk over tacos and a few rounds of drinks
  • Claviger excuses himself and says goodnight to everyone
  • The Weavers begin doing Sooth readings for each other
  • After each doing a reading for each other, they collaborate to do a reading for Xeni
  • It is hinted that Xëniå may be Xeni’s lost child
  • As Cafe closes, the vislae adjourn to Kallie’s (a prosody in Strangeglass) for a few more rounds (actually songs since it’s a prosody)
  • Xeni and Xëniå try to process what they’ve learnt about each other while Cassian gets progressively louder and nearly gets them thrown out
  • Kallie’s closes and the vislae head back towards the Hollows to continue the night, ending up on a random dock just chatting and looking out to sea
  • After a while they head to The Kite Tower, a fancy restaurant in Zardim, to check out a rooftop pool party
  • As soon as the elevator opens Xeni spots Godwin Ashol, the black market Maker whose construct she has been holding onto
  • The Onion Knight (Godwin’s automaton) steps behind Xeni in apparent fear
  • Godwin has his back turned and is deep in conversation with a Weaver surrounded by hands… the crime lord Cryter Miniss
Secrets of Silent Streets (pg. 70)

  • Cassian walks toward them and the “accidentally” falls into the pool, splashing water in their direction
  • The water breaks around an invisible force field surrounding Godwin and Cryter. Apparently they do not wish to be disturbed.
  • Xeni notices they are arguing and seemingly talking loudly, but no sound can be heard. A field of silence.
  • Xeni boldly strides into their invisible bubble and declares to Godwin that she is keeping the Onion Knight, regardless of whether she has to pay for it or even fight Godwin
  • [drew the Assassin]
  • Godwin speaks with a smoldering voice, telling Xeni he accepts her offer but she does not know what she is buying or how to purchase it, so he will accept her debt.
  • The Onion Knight holds its spear to Xeni’s throat, shaking as it does so. It will make sure the debt is paid.
  • Godwin then breathes thick black smoke which Cryter weaves into a dark ship, carrying the two of them off into the night
  • The three friends stand there staring off at them and pondering what the hell just happened
  • A precocious young Vance named Nathan Nevrimol approaches the group with his friends and starts saying a bunch of stuff about how they’re insane to mess with Godwin and Cryter
  • Xëniå kind of snaps on him and begins to weave, and a slightly slaphappy Cassian joins in, amplifying the effect with his own threads
  • The two of them slap Nathan with a whopping four die weave of Moonlight and Wind (speed, breath, deception, deception)
  • Nathan is permanently cursed, the more he talks the less he will be believed or trusted
  • His Vance friends usher him away in embarrassment
  • Xëniå fluxed the weave so she now has temporary narcolepsy
  • This proves comical the next morning as she struggles to stay awake (and battles a hangover) during her first degree initiation ceremony
  • Apparently her cell heard about her major Sooth reading for Xeni and epic clap back at Nathan, stuff they’re apparently all for
  • End of session!
