Highlights
the crew delivered Batu (the missing local they found bound and beaten up in the Lucky Flight casino) to his family, the owners of a small bodega called “Snacks + Smokes”
Batu’s family was grateful and offered the crew: 1) Swedish meatballs, 2) a rent-free basement room, 3) a 25% discount at the bodega in perpetuity
the crew laid low for several days to let the heat die down
Alec got involved with some street racing which cut through the hydroponic farms run by the Solarian church, and ended up damaging some of the food vats which led to: 1) him being wanted by the Solarians, and 2) getting a glimpse of the Solarian drug production labs
after some discussion the crew decided to take on a corporate job Gnat had a lead on through his employer
the job was to check on the Samsa VI colony, which had apparently been unresponsive for about seven months
flush with their advance money and excited at the prospect of a real corporate payday, the crew bought some gear and prepared to travel via executive transport to the Samsa system
the crew boarded J2C-1 The Metamorphosis and we’re introduced to their mission operations manager, Maas.
after three weeks of cryosleep, the crew arrived at Samsa VI and took a dropship to the surface
despite severe tropical storms, the crew made it safely to the landing site at Greta Base
after some preliminary investigation, the crew discovered the bisected body of PFC Olsson outside the Garage module
the crew forced entry to the Garage and discovered Sgt Abara standing in a waterlogged hole, digging, unresponsive to communication attempts and seemingly covered in small cuts
the garage also contained an APC, which Treb found was unlocked. Within, an apparently traumatized base engineer sat muttering to himself. He was covered in small cuts, wearing a tinfoil hat, and clutching a primed frag grenade….
“Are you here to take me home? I must rejoin the work…”
end of session!
